Job Overview: A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney to join its bankruptcy practice in California. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of bankruptcy cases, including Chapter 7, 11, and 13 filings. Duties:

  • Manage various stages of bankruptcy proceedings, including Chapter 7, 11, and 13 cases.
  • Handle direct client interactions, providing legal advice, and maintaining regular communication.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategy and court filings.
  • Prepare necessary legal documents such as motions, briefs, and client correspondence.
  • Represent clients in court, including attending hearings and mediations both virtually and in person.
  • Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and creditors.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to strategize and implement case management solutions.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of California, in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a practicing attorney, with a focus on bankruptcy or secured creditor representation.
  • Experience in representing secured creditors, especially in home mortgage cases, is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local bankruptcy laws.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of cases and effectively prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership with the California Bar (required).

Skills:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage multiple projects with strict deadlines.
