Associate Attorney Insurance Defense

A law firm seeks an associate attorney to join its reputable team in Philadelphia. This role focuses on insurance defense, specifically within the general liability and medical malpractice sectors. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in these areas and be licensed in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. A Delaware license is a plus but not required. Duties

• Collaborate with senior attorneys on insurance defense cases, including general liability and medical malpractice matters.
• Represent clients in legal proceedings, including drafting motions, pleadings, and other legal documents.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies and client advice.
• Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and court officials.
• Participate in discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
• Provide effective legal counsel and strategic advice to clients while managing case files.
• Assist in case resolution through negotiation and settlement strategies, as necessary.

Requirements

• Active licenses in Pennsylvania and New Jersey; a Delaware license is a plus.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage a diverse caseload and work independently.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other attorneys and support staff.
• Excellent communication and client-relations skills.
• Comfort with taking depositions and appearing in court.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• An active member of the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bar.
• Delaware Bar membership is preferred but not required.

Skills

• Experience with case management and legal documentation.
