A law firm in San Jose is seeking a skilled and experienced Employment Litigation Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in employment law, a commitment to defending and advising employers, and experience handling a wide range of employment-related claims. The position requires excellent academic credentials, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Defend and litigate lawsuits involving a broad range of employment-related claims and agency charges.
  • Advise, counsel, and train employers on various employment and labor law issues.
  • Represent employers in court or arbitration, before administrative agencies, and at mediations in employment matters, including class/collective actions and claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, contract, employment tort, and non-compete cases.
  • Handle Class Action and Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) cases (experience preferred).
  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal briefs, motions, and pleadings.
  • Develop case strategies and provide clients with regular updates on case status and strategy.
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, and trials, presenting strong and effective arguments.
  • Engage in mediation and negotiation to resolve disputes.
  • Ensure compliance with current agency (state and federal) procedures and regulations.
  • Maintain thorough and organized case files, ensuring attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure efficient case management and client satisfaction.
  • Contribute to the firm’s knowledge base and training programs by staying updated on current employment laws and trends.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school, with excellent academic credentials.
  • Admission to the California State Bar, in good standing.
  • 4-6 years of experience in employment litigation or related legal field.
  • Strong understanding of current agency (state and federal) procedures and regulations.

  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.

Certifications:

Admission to the California State Bar.

 

Education:
