Civil Litigation Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced civil litigation attorney to join its team in Grand Rapids, MI. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-approved law school, exemplary academic achievements, and active Michigan Bar admission. The attorney should have at least 5 years of active civil litigation experience, with the ability to manage cases from inception through trial, including various litigation tasks such as drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs, managing discovery, conducting legal research, and more.

Duties:

• Manage civil litigation cases from inception through trial.
• Prepare pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Manage discovery processes.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Conduct legal research, analysis, and writing.
• Provide defense for public entities (experience preferred).
• Handle multiple priorities in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-Approved law school.
• Active Michigan Bar admission in good standing.
• Minimum 5 years of active civil litigation experience.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-Approved law school.

Certifications:

• Current Michigan Bar admission in good standing.
