Job Overview:
A premier law firm in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a qualified Compliance Immigration Attorney with at least 5-8 years of experience. The position involves managing a diverse caseload related to immigration law, including removal defense, family-based petitions, and other USCIS applications. Location:

Duties:

  • Explain complex immigration concepts and provide strategic legal solutions to clients.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals (EOIR).
  • Manage and prioritize a caseload of immigration cases.
  • Conduct intake meetings with detained individuals at immigration centers.
  • Prepare diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
  • Review immigration applications and packets, making necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on immigration law changes.
  • Meet with potential clients, conduct strategic consultations, and determine the best immigration strategy.
  • Develop legal strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS testimony.
  • Analyze and assess potential case benefits for clients.
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of experience in immigration law.
  • Proven track record of managing and advancing legal cases in the immigration field.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian Relief, EOIR, Detained Cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage client relationships and work within a team.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with case management software is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar license in good standing (California preferred).

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop effective strategies.
  • Client-focused with a strong commitment to achieving positive outcomes.
  • Proficiency in case management software is an advantage.
