Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking a Privacy and Client Review Counsel for its Phoenix office. This hybrid role involves conducting comprehensive reviews of outside counsel guidelines and ensuring compliance with privacy laws and regulations.

Location:

  • Phoenix, AZ

Duties:

  • Review and analyze Outside Counsel Guidelines, RFPs, and engagement letters.
  • Facilitate and implement Outside Counsel Guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Office of General Counsel, including Conflicts Counsel and Senior Client Review Counsel.
  • Stay updated on state, federal, and international privacy laws.
  • Support the firm’s Privacy Officer in compliance with privacy regulations (CCPA/CPRA, HIPAA, GDPR, UK GDPR).
  • Manage databases and business associate agreements.
  • Respond to public inquiries regarding privacy policies and data requests.
  • Identify training needs related to secure information handling and privacy law.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate degree and in good standing with the local bar.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing attorney, with contract review/drafting experience preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in privacy law is helpful but not required.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of privacy laws and compliance frameworks.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Relevant privacy certifications (e.g., CIP, CIPC, CIPE, CIPM) desired but not required.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High degree of interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information and meet deadlines.
