A law firm in San Mateo, CA, is seeking an experienced Estate Planning Associate Attorney to assist clients with designing and implementing estate plans, trust administrations, and probates. The ideal candidate will have expertise in estate tax planning, trust planning, and conservatorships, with proficiency in relevant legal software and strong communication skills.

Job Duties:

  • Collaborate with clients to create comprehensive estate plans, ranging from simple to complex instruments.
  • Manage trust administrations and probate proceedings from commencement to completion.
  • Preferential consideration for candidates with experience in conservatorships and probate and trust litigation.
  • Handle matters related to Propositions 13 and 58, including entity formation and operation.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance across trusts, probate, trust administration, and conservatorships.
  • Conduct estate tax planning and sophisticated trust planning strategies.
  • Draft and review estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.
  • Utilize legal software for document management and client communication.
  • Manage case files, billing, and document preparation efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Member in good standing of the California State Bar.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Trusts, Estates, and Conservatorships law.
  • Experience in probate and trust litigation preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of estate tax planning and various forms of trust planning.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), TimeMatters, Gavel or other Case Management Software, Acrobat, Clio billing software, and HotDocs.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
