A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join its Parsippany, NJ office, specializing in debt collection litigation. This role offers significant courtroom exposure, providing attorneys with the opportunity to handle cases from inception through trial, with a focus on plaintiff-side work. Duties:

  • Represent clients in debt collection cases, handling litigation from initial filing through trial and resolution.
  • Regularly appear in court to advocate for client interests and present case arguments.
  • Manage an active caseload, overseeing all stages of litigation, including motion practice and trial preparation.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents relevant to debt collection and litigation.
  • Collaborate with the legal team to develop effective strategies for case resolution.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable laws and regulations in debt collection litigation.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in New Jersey (additional licensure in New York or Pennsylvania is a plus).
  • Experience level: 0-5 years, with a demonstrated interest in litigation.
  • Strong courtroom presence, with the ability to advocate effectively and professionally.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with attention to detail and organization.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in New Jersey.
  • New York or Pennsylvania bar membership is a plus but not required.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft and argue motions clearly and persuasively.
