Job Overview: A law firm in Miami, FL, is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Bankruptcy Partner to join their team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in Chapter 11 cases, a proven track record of representing debtors, committees, and fiduciaries, and preferably a background in bankruptcy litigation. The candidate must exhibit a collaborative approach, possess a team-oriented attitude, and either be a member of the Florida Bar or demonstrate a commitment to obtaining admission.

Duties:

  • Represent debtors, committees, and fiduciaries in Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases.
  • Handle all aspects of bankruptcy litigation as needed.
  • Provide strategic legal advice and guidance to clients regarding bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Draft, review, and file necessary legal documents and pleadings.
  • Negotiate with creditors, trustees, and other parties to reach favorable resolutions.
  • Manage and supervise junior attorneys and legal staff assigned to bankruptcy cases.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high client satisfaction.
  • Stay current with developments in bankruptcy law and related regulations.
  • Participate in business development activities to grow the bankruptcy practice within the firm.

Requirements:

  • Substantial experience in handling Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases.
  • Proven experience representing debtors, committees, and fiduciaries.
  • Preferred experience in bankruptcy litigation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and counterparties.
  • Portable book of business.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of legal ethics and professionalism.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Member of the Florida Bar or a demonstrated commitment to obtaining admission.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of bankruptcy law, particularly Chapter 11.
  • Strong litigation skills.
  • Ability to manage and mentor junior legal staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
