Job Overview

A prominent law firm in Charlotte, NC, is seeking an experienced Attorney Specialist to join their Asset Management and Investment Funds (AMIF) practice group. This permanent, non-partnership track role focuses on providing high-quality legal support to the firm's registered fund attorneys. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in mutual fund and ETF filings, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.

Duties

  • Assist with mutual fund and ETF filings and compliance documentation.
  • Review and update mutual fund registration statements and shareholder reports.
  • Support new fund launches and prepare related legal documents.
  • Research issues under the Investment Company Act of 1940 and other applicable regulations.
  • Review and prepare materials for mutual fund board meetings.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to maintain and strengthen client relationships.
  • Manage projects and timelines effectively to ensure timely deliverables.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of direct experience in mutual funds, ETFs, or -investment management legal matters.
  • Strong knowledge of the Investment Company Act of 1940.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with high attention to detail.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar membership in good standing.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in North Carolina or eligibility for admission by waiver.
