The successful candidate will have at least 2 years of law firm experience in U.S. federal income tax matters, with a strong academic background and excellent written and oral communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-office tax and corporate transactional teams to provide comprehensive legal services.
  • Offer expert legal advice on U.S. federal income tax issues related to corporate transactions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex tax-related agreements and documentation.
  • Conduct thorough tax research and analysis to support corporate strategies and ensure compliance.
  • Structure transactions to maximize tax efficiency and adhere to federal tax regulations.
  • Manage client relationships, delivering clear and effective communication on tax matters.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in tax laws and regulations, advising clients on their implications.
  • Participate in strategic planning and discussions regarding tax and corporate matters.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a law firm with a focus on U.S. federal income tax matters.
  • Strong academic credentials, including a JD from an accredited law school.
  • Demonstrated experience handling complex tax-related legal issues and corporate transactions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Minnesota Bar (or eligibility to obtain admission).
  • Certification or specialization in tax law is advantageous but not required.
