A law firm seeks a Healthcare Transactional Associate to join its highly regarded healthcare team in Richmond, VA. This position provides the opportunity to work on complex healthcare transactions, with a specific focus on private equity deals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare law and will play a key role in advising clients across various sectors of the healthcare industry, including private equity firms, hospitals, and clinical organizations.

Duties

  • Advise clients on healthcare-related transactional matters, with a focus on private equity transactions in the healthcare sector.
  • Collaborate with private equity funds, hospitals, academic medical centers, long-term care facilities, and other healthcare entities on complex transactions.
  • Work on mergers and acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures, and other business agreements within the healthcare industry.
  • Draft and negotiate transaction documents, including agreements, letters of intent, and asset purchase agreements.
  • Provide legal guidance on regulatory compliance, healthcare financing, and other industry-specific legal matters.
  • Interact with clients, legal teams, and business professionals to ensure successful transaction execution and client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • 4 to 6 years of experience in healthcare transactional law within a top 100 law firm setting.
  • Experience in private equity transactions in the healthcare industry is highly desirable.
  • Candidates with expertise in complementary areas of healthcare law (e.g., regulatory or financing matters) are also encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent academic credentials and strong legal writing skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in Virginia (VA Bar required).

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • A strong academic record is required.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the Virginia State Bar.
