Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking a talented Mid-Level Capital Markets Associate Attorney to join its dynamic team in Washington, DC. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of regulatory matters with a specific focus on mortgage and consumer credit regulations and licensing. The successful candidate will collaborate with senior professionals and clients while handling key responsibilities in financial services regulation.

Duties:

  • Manage a diverse range of consumer and commercial credit regulatory issues.
  • Research federal and state-level consumer and commercial credit regulations.
  • Draft legal memoranda analyzing regulatory concerns within the mortgage and consumer credit space.
  • Perform due diligence on various counterparties in the mortgage and consumer credit industries.
  • Collaborate with the team on regulatory licensing matters for clients.
  • Support the practice in additional areas as required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years of legal experience, preferably within regulatory work.
  • Proven expertise in mortgage and consumer credit regulatory issues and licensing.
  • Strong experience in conducting legal research and preparing detailed memoranda.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team while managing independent tasks.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in Washington, DC, and/or New York.

Education:

  • J.D. (Juris Doctor) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to the Bar in Washington, DC, and/or New York. Must be in good standing.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong research abilities and attention to detail.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
