Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a skilled and passionate Litigation Attorney to join its team in Greenwood Village, CO. This role is ideal for an attorney with 3-7 years of experience, specifically in the construction industry. The position offers the opportunity to work with high-profile clients, engage in complex construction disputes, and participate in all phases of litigation, arbitration, and mediation. Duties:

  • Represent clients in litigation, arbitration, mediation, dispute resolution board actions, and other construction-related disputes.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts and agreements.
  • Advise project teams on risk management, compliance with regulations, and legal matters related to construction projects.
  • Apply strong legal research and writing skills to provide practical and legally sound solutions to industry issues.
  • Collaborate with project teams throughout the construction phases, offering strategic counsel and support.

Requirements:

  • 3-7 years of experience as a litigation attorney, with a preference for those with a focus on construction law or non-legal construction industry experience.
  • Admission to practice law in Colorado, California, Arizona, or Oregon.
  • Strong knowledge of construction-related legal concepts, including mechanic’s lien law, insurance, performance bonds, and public contracting.
  • Familiarity with standard construction industry agreements such as EJCDC, AIA, ConsensusDocs, DBIA, and CMAA.
  • Experience in project support, contract administration, and legal guidance throughout the lifecycle of construction projects.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Valid state Bar certification in Colorado, California, Arizona, or Oregon.

Skills:

  • Strong litigation, negotiation, and dispute-resolution skills.
  • In-depth understanding of construction law and industry practices.
