Litigation Attorney (Newly Licensed to 5 Years Experience)

A dynamic law firm in Davenport, IA, is seeking a Litigation Attorney to join its team, specializing in family law and civil litigation. The position is remote, except for court appearances, and offers opportunities for mentorship and growth. The firm handles a wide range of legal areas, including family law, business representation, civil litigation, estate planning, and more. The role welcomes newly licensed attorneys and those with up to five years of experience.

Duties:

• Represent clients in family law and civil litigation cases
• Draft legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and discovery requests
• Manage a caseload, including preparing for hearings, trials, and settlements
• Provide legal advice and counseling to clients
• Attend court appearances, mediations, and depositions
• Collaborate with senior attorneys for case strategy and guidance
• Maintain clear communication with clients and colleagues
• Ensure compliance with all legal procedures and deadlines

Requirements:

• Licensure in Illinois or Iowa, with the ability to become licensed in the other state within 6 months (dual licensure is a plus)
• 0-5 years of experience in litigation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Must be licensed to practice law in either Illinois or Iowa, with the ability to obtain licensure in the other state
