A law firm in Bethesda, MD, is seeking a Junior Associate Attorney with 0-2 years of experience to join their estate planning/probate practice group, with secondary responsibilities in business law, commercial real estate, and litigation matters. The ideal candidate will be newly admitted to the Maryland Bar or have recently obtained their admission.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with estate planning and probate matters, including drafting wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents.
  • Support clients through the probate process, including filing documents and managing court proceedings.
  • Provide legal research and drafting support for business law matters, including contracts and corporate governance.
  • Assist in commercial real estate transactions, including reviewing and drafting lease agreements and purchase contracts.
  • Contribute to litigation matters, including preparing pleadings, discovery, and attending hearings.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders to manage case progress and provide updates.
  • Participate in meetings and consultations with clients to gather information and provide legal advice.
  • Perform general legal research and writing tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Admission to the Maryland Bar is required.
  • 0-2 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in estate planning, probate, business law, commercial real estate, or litigation.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and legal research tools.

Education and Certifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active admission to the Maryland Bar.
