Job Overview:
A reputable law firm in Denver is currently seeking a skilled Railroad Litigation Attorney to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced legal professionals in a collaborative and business casual environment. The successful candidate will gain valuable hands-on experience with clients, court appearances, depositions, case management, and business development.

Duties:

  • Defend railroad civil litigation cases and manage all aspects of litigation.
  • Represent clients in court and during depositions.
  • Handle fact and expert depositions, including preparation and engagement with experts.
  • Oversee pre-trial discovery, motions, and large document production.
  • Collaborate with insurance claims representatives for case assessments and strategy development.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, meeting their needs and addressing concerns.
  • Take responsibility for managing assigned files and cases.
  • Delegate tasks to paralegals and oversee case progress.
  • Develop and execute marketing and business development strategies.
  • Participate in first-chair mediation and trial/arbitration.
  • Draft legal publications, articles, and presentations.
  • Promote a continuous learning environment through onsite training.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado.
  • Preferred experience in Railroad Litigation.
  • Proven experience in case management and client interactions.
  • Strong communication, research, and writing skills.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and legal databases.
  • Experience with expert disclosures, reporting, and pre-trial motions.
  • First-chair mediation or trial/arbitration experience is a plus.
  • Ability to manage and delegate tasks effectively.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in Colorado.

Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex legal cases and documents.
  • Experience in business development and client relations.
