Job Overview: A reputable law firm is seeking an experienced Immigration Attorney to join its growing immigration practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in immigration law, including legal research, writing, and client interaction. The role involves preparing cases for USCIS, representing clients in EOIR Immigration Court, and handling a variety of immigration matters.

Location:

  • Clifton, NJ

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents related to immigration matters.
  • Represent clients before USCIS and the EOIR Immigration Court.
  • Provide legal counsel and strategic advice to clients regarding immigration options and strategies.
  • Communicate with clients regarding case updates and progress.
  • Prepare and file applications for various immigration benefits, including visas, green cards, and asylum petitions.
  • Attend client meetings and assist in case preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with all immigration laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of one year of experience practicing immigration law.
  • Must be admitted to the New Jersey Bar.
  • Strong legal writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • New Jersey Bar License (Required)

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Strong interpersonal and client communication skills.
  • Familiarity with immigration law, including family-based, employment-based, and removal defense cases.
  • Ability to handle a diverse caseload with varying levels of complexity.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Fluency in Spanish (preferred).
