A law firm seeks a highly skilled Labor & Employment Associate with 2-4 years of experience to join its New Jersey office in Florham Park. This position offers the chance to engage in diverse legal work, including advising clients across industries and handling litigation related to workplace matters. Duties

  • Represent clients in employment litigation matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, accommodations, and wage-related disputes.
  • Counsel employers on compliance issues, including leaves of absence, performance management, terminations, and wage and hour laws.
  • Draft and revise personnel policies, employee handbooks, and employment agreements.
  • Manage case files, conduct legal research, and draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda.
  • Guide risk management and strategies to prevent employment-related disputes.
  • Collaborate with clients from a wide range of industries and ensure timely, high-quality legal services.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of defense-side labor and employment law experience.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong background in litigation and counseling employers on compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the New Jersey State Bar (required).
  • New York Bar admission is preferred.
