A law firm seeks an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Junior Associate specializing in government contracts to join their dynamic team in Washington, D.C. This firm excels in various legal fields, including Business Law, Commercial Transactions, Bid Protests, Litigation, Business Strategies, Commercial Real Estate, and International Trade. The selected candidate will focus primarily on government contracts and bid protests, assisting clients in navigating complex legal landscapes both domestically and internationally.

Duties:

  • Assist in managing client cases from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct legal research and provide informed advice to clients.
  • Draft and review a variety of legal documents, including filings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior associates to develop effective litigation strategies.
  • Gather and analyze evidence to support client cases.
  • Provide updates and consult with senior team members on case progress.
  • Support colleagues on additional cases as required.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school or equivalent legal experience.
  • Active membership in the bar of Washington, D.C., Virginia, Maryland, or other relevant jurisdictions (for the right candidate).
  • Residence in the Washington, D.C. area preferred, with some flexibility.
  • Candidates with experience in government contracts or military service are highly desirable.
  • Strong preference for applicants with a background as JAG officers.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.
  • Familiarity with government contracts law is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Excellent drafting skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment while managing individual responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards in legal practice.
  • 0-4 years of relevant legal experience.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Bar admission (required).
