Attorney Specialist - Asset Management and Investment Funds (AMIF)

A law firm seeks an experienced Attorney Specialist to join its Asset Management and Investment Funds (AMIF) practice group in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have direct experience in derivatives transactions and repurchase agreements for registered investment companies, such as mutual funds, ETFs, and closed-end funds. The role will support the AMIF attorneys on matters related to complex asset management and investment fund matters. Duties

• Provide legal support to attorneys on transactions involving derivatives, repurchase agreements, and other related matters for registered investment companies.
• Work on large mutual fund client relationships, collaborating with partners and associates to address complex regulatory and transactional issues.
• Contribute to the development of strategies for clients in the asset management and investment funds sectors.
• Assist in drafting legal documents, including agreements, reports, and correspondence.
• Participate in project management, working independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines and client needs.
• Engage in regular communication with clients, ensuring a high level of service and addressing client inquiries.
• Provide legal research and guidance on evolving regulations and industry practices impacting asset management and investment funds.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of direct experience in asset management and investment fund-related legal work, specifically in derivatives transactions and repurchase agreements.
• Strong understanding of investment funds, including mutual funds, ETFs, and closed-end funds.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and work collaboratively with clients and team members.
• High level of attention to detail and excellent drafting, research, and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
• Self-starter with a proactive approach and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work under pressure while maintaining quality standards.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Must be admitted to the state bar or eligible for admission to the state bar.
