Entry-Level Immigration Attorney

A law firm seeks a dedicated and driven Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join its team in Sacramento, CA. Duties:

• Provide legal counsel and present strategic immigration solutions to clients.
• Represent both detained and non-detained clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Manage an active caseload, ensuring efficient handling of cases from start to finish.
• Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at immigration centers.
• Prepare a variety of immigration applications, including family-based petitions and removal defense cases.
• Review and revise immigration applications, ensuring they are complete and meet legal requirements.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations regarding changes in immigration law.
• Meet with potential clients to discuss their cases and develop tailored legal strategies.
• Prepare clients and witnesses for court appearances and USCIS interviews.
• Provide legal analysis to assess the potential benefits and outcomes for clients’ cases.
• Draft and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.

Requirements:

• At least 1 year of experience in immigration law or related legal experience.
• Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
• Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian relief, EOIR cases, detained clients, and USCIS applications.
• Proficiency in using case management software is preferred.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the California State Bar.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the state of California.

• Organizational skills with an attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
