Job Overview:
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Employment Counsel with 8+ years of expertise in employment law. This position, located in San Jose, can be either full-time or part-time. The ideal candidate will work directly with clients, providing legal support and advice on employment law matters, including advising on litigation and non-litigation issues. The role involves substantial client interaction, research, brief writing, motion practice, policy drafting, and investigation.

Location:

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and support to clients on a wide range of employment law issues.
  • Advise clients on litigation and non-litigation employment matters.
  • Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Conduct legal research and draft opinions on employment law issues.
  • Take and defend depositions in employment-related disputes.
  • Conduct investigations of complaints and prepare charge responses.
  • Draft and review employment policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and work in a team-oriented environment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in employment law (both advisory and litigation).
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to manage complex employment matters.
  • Outstanding client service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Active California Bar license in good standing.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must hold an active license to practice law in California.

Skills:

  • Expertise in employment law, including litigation and advising on employment-related issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to take initiative and manage multiple cases and clients.
