Job Title: Mid-Level Associate Attorney (Employment Litigation)

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm based in San Francisco, CA, is currently seeking a highly skilled Mid-Level Associate Attorney to join its dynamic litigation team. This firm specializes in complex employment law cases and offers an outstanding opportunity for hands-on experience in trial work. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in employment law, particularly in litigation, and a strong academic background. As part of a close-knit team, the selected individual will work directly with partners, clients, and experts on a range of employment-related matters, including trials and appeals.

Duties:

  • Lead and assist in all stages of litigation, from pre-trial to trial and appeals
  • Conduct legal research and draft comprehensive memoranda
  • Prepare and file pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
  • Engage in discovery, including propounding and responding to requests, taking and defending depositions
  • Interact with clients, witnesses, experts, and opposing counsel
  • Represent clients in both state and federal courts, as well as before governmental agencies
  • Develop case strategies and provide regular updates to supervising attorneys and clients
  • Prepare and argue motions, including motions for summary judgment and adjudication
  • Coordinate and manage case investigations, including taking depositions and managing expert testimony

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of employment litigation experience (preferred)
  • Proven ability to handle complex legal research and writing tasks
  • Strong case management experience, including working directly with clients and adversaries
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and with clients
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in California and good standing

Certifications:

  • Active Bar Membership in California

Skills:

  • Strong writing and analytical skills, with the ability to distill complex legal concepts into clear, actionable advice
  • Expertise in employment litigation matters, including both individual and class-action cases
  • Proficient in e-discovery tools, data management applications, and legal technologies
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently
  • Superior oral advocacy skills, with a demonstrated ability to represent clients in court and at hearings
