A law firm is seeking a skilled and experienced Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience as a litigation attorney, strong knowledge of California Civil Procedures, and the ability to communicate complex legal concepts effectively.

 

Duties:

  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and briefs
  • Conduct thorough legal research
  • Prepare and file motions
  • Conduct and defend depositions
  • Handle day-to-day tasks associated with litigation cases
  • Argue motions in court
  • Analyze and apply legal precedents and procedures
  • Communicate complex legal concepts effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Manage case files and ensure compliance with legal procedures
  • Assist in trial preparation and provide support during trials
  • Maintain direct client contact and provide legal advice
  • Stay current with changes in California Civil Procedures and relevant legal precedents

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in California
  • 3-5 years of experience as a licensed attorney
  • Litigation experience with skills in drafting and arguing motions and conducting depositions
  • Strong knowledge of California Civil Procedures and legal precedents
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Prior experience working as a litigation attorney is essential
  • Experience in cannabis and land use law is beneficial

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

 

Certifications:

Active license to practice law in California
