A law firm seeks a skilled litigation attorney with at least two years of experience to join its San Francisco office. This role offers a unique opportunity to take on significant responsibility within a dynamic and sophisticated legal environment. The position allows for hands-on involvement in various complex legal matters, offering exposure to multiple areas of litigation.

Duties:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of litigation from case inception to resolution, including trial preparation and court appearances.
  • Work on cases involving general liability, with an opportunity to specialize in professional liability, healthcare, specialty care, senior living litigation, and more.
  • Handle litigation related to mass torts, class actions, product liability, human trafficking, and sexual abuse claims.
  • Collaborate directly with clients, providing guidance and strategic advice.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents.
  • Assist in developing case strategies, and providing valuable insights and recommendations to senior attorneys.
  • Engage in settlement negotiations and represent clients in mediation and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
  • Participate in formal mentorship programs, continuing education, and professional development initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of litigation experience, focusing on general liability or a related area.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to draft legal documents efficiently and persuasively.
  • Experience in managing cases independently while working collaboratively within a team.
  • High level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in California.

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research and writing abilities.
  • Proven experience in litigation, including courtroom experience and client management.
  • Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software.
  • Ability to manage complex caseloads with a focus on client service.
  • Strong negotiation skills and comfort with settlement discussions.
