The successful candidate will work directly with a collaborative and highly experienced team, engaging in a broad range of state and local tax matters, including complex litigation and innovative policy solutions. This role is ideal for a candidate with strong academic credentials and 4 years of relevant experience in state and local taxation.

Duties:
• Collaborate with a team to handle state and local tax matters, including planning, litigation, and policy solutions.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis related to state tax issues and unclaimed property.
• Draft and review legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, and motions related to state tax controversies.
• Assist in the development of innovative strategies for addressing complex tax issues and disputes.
• Provide legal advice and support to clients on state and local tax matters, including compliance and tax planning.
• Prepare and present reports and recommendations based on legal research and case analysis.
• Participate in client meetings and provide updates on case progress and strategy.
• Engage in negotiation and settlement discussions related to state tax disputes.

Requirements:
• JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Current member of the DC Bar.
• 4 years of experience in state and local taxation, with a preference for law firm, government, or "Big Four" accounting firm experience.
• Strong writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to handle complex tax issues and work effectively within a team.
• Outstanding academic credentials.

Education:
JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:
Active membership in the DC Bar.
