Job Title: Briefing Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm in Conroe, Texas is seeking a skilled Briefing Attorney to join its litigation team. This role is designed for an attorney with a passion for legal writing, research, and strategy. The Briefing Attorney will be integral in assisting with complex legal writing, conducting research, and supporting case development. This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to the success of a dynamic legal team.

Duties:

  • Review and finalize expert disclosures
  • Draft protective orders and responses to motions
  • Prepare and respond to motions for summary judgment and motions to compel discovery
  • Draft appeals and other related legal documents
  • Prepare memos on specialized topics such as subrogation and liens
  • Draft trial briefs on specific case issues
  • Manage motions to remand and non-party discovery processes
  • Prepare and attend Rule 44 hearings, including drafting relevant judgments
  • Support deposition preparations for plaintiffs

Requirements:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in Texas
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in legal writing or law review experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure
  • Ability to independently conduct thorough legal research
  • Strong skills in legal analysis, writing, and strategy development
  • Experience in collaborating effectively within a litigation team

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited institution

Certifications:

  • Texas State Bar membership
