Job Overview

A law firm in Modesto, CA, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Criminal Defense Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive legal representation to clients in criminal matters, offer expert advice, and manage all aspects of their cases.

Duties

• Advise clients on their legal rights and draw up legal documents pertaining to their cases.
• Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and provide strategic advice following each hearing.
• Manage court appearances, trials, draft motions, interview witnesses, and conduct legal research.
• Analyze probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents.
• Manage a caseload efficiently and effectively.
• Provide legal analysis to determine potential case benefits for clients.
• Gather additional evidence to support clients’ cases or counter the prosecution’s charges.
• Prepare clients for depositions and determine essential goals of case strategy.
• Collect information from witnesses and experts to support clients' positions.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of Criminal Defense experience.
• Experience handling complex criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels.
• A collaborative team player who is open to helping, strategizing, and working with fellow associates.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Possess top-tier interpersonal skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active member of the California State Bar in good standing.

Certifications

• California State Bar certification required.
