Job Overview: A dynamic law firm is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of general litigation or labor and employment law experience. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of employment-related cases, including class actions, single plaintiff cases, and general employment counsel. The role involves direct client interaction, managing cases from inception to resolution, and offers the chance to develop significant litigation skills in a fast-paced environment.

Duties:

  • Handle labor and employment cases, including class action and single plaintiff matters
  • Provide general employment advice and counsel to clients
  • Conduct and defend depositions, draft motions, briefs, and manage discovery
  • Participate in evidentiary hearings, status conferences, and argue dispositive motions
  • Conduct legal research and draft relevant legal documents
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on trial preparation and case strategy
  • Represent clients in both court proceedings and out-of-court negotiations

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of general litigation and/or labor and employment law experience
  • Experience with class actions and representative actions preferred
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with discovery, depositions, and trial preparation

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of California

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and analytical capabilities
  • Proficiency in drafting pleadings, motions, and managing discovery
  • Excellent oral advocacy skills, including arguing motions and participating in hearings
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and legal teams
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
