Job Overview: A prominent law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its Labor & Employment practice group in the Newport Beach, CA office. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an attorney with at least two years of civil litigation experience to engage in a variety of labor and employment matters, including single plaintiff employment litigation and complex wage and hour class actions. The ideal candidate will work on sophisticated legal issues, handle direct client interactions, and gain exposure to cutting-edge developments in labor and employment law.

Location:

  • Newport Beach, California

Duties:

  • Represent clients in employment-related litigation, including wage and hour disputes and single-plaintiff employment matters.
  • Draft legal documents, including complaints, motions, discovery, and settlement agreements.
  • Advise clients on labor and employment issues, providing strategic legal counsel.
  • Manage a diverse caseload with a focus on complex litigation and class actions.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop case strategies.
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, and trials as necessary.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and provide regular updates on case progress.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the practice group.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of civil litigation experience, preferably with a focus on labor and employment law.
  • Experience with wage and hour class action litigation is highly desirable.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and client service skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the State Bar of California.

Skills:

  • Civil litigation and trial preparation experience.
  • Knowledge of California labor and employment laws, including wage and hour regulations.
  • Strong legal writing and drafting skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients and provide practical legal advice.
  • Proficiency in legal research and case management tools.
