General Liability Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm seeks a skilled General Liability Associate Attorney to join its dynamic White Plains, NY team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong litigation skills and a comprehensive understanding of general liability and insurance coverage matters.

Duties:

• Conduct thorough file reviews and legal analyses of claims and causes of action.
• Perform extensive legal research and draft substantive briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs.
• Maintain an annual billable target of 1950 hours.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, arbitrations, and depositions.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests effectively.
• Facilitate expert witness retention and collaboration.
• Prepare thoroughly for trials and attend as required.
• May involve occasional travel as necessary.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in General Liability law; experience in Insurance Coverage is advantageous.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• Admission to practice law in New York and Connecticut; additional state admissions are a plus.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in legal research, with strong written and oral communication skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage tasks independently and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
• Prompt responsiveness to email and phone inquiries.
• Strong client management skills and a professional telephone manner.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• Admission to practice law in New York and Connecticut; additional state bar admissions preferred.
