Duties:

  • Handle removal defense cases, including litigation and complex immigration cases with waivers.
  • Assist clients in navigating the U.S. immigration system, providing clear guidance and explanations of case strategies.
  • Prepare legal documents, including motions, briefs, and petitions.
  • Represent clients in immigration court, administrative hearings, and other legal proceedings.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, providing updates and responding to inquiries.
  • Collaborate with team members to manage case load and ensure timely resolution of cases.
  • Participate in client meetings and consultations, ensuring they understand the legal process.

Requirements:

  • Spanish fluency with superior verbal communication skills.
  • Strong legal analysis and writing skills.
  • Experience in immigration law or substantial litigation experience preferred.
  • Ability to explain complicated legal concepts to clients with limited English proficiency.
  • Passion for working with the immigrant community and providing high-quality legal services.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and proactive with a desire to grow professionally.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be admitted to the State Bar.
  • Preference for attorneys with membership in AILA (American Immigration Lawyers Association).

Skills:

  • Immigration Law, particularly removal defense and waivers.
  • Legal Research and Writing.
  • Client Communication and Legal Consultation.
  • Litigation and Representation in Immigration Court.
  • Spanish Language Fluency (Required).
