A law firm in Salt Lake City, UT, is seeking a Real Estate Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience in commercial real estate and land use planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the acquisition, disposition, development, management, and leasing of various property types. Experience with environmental, natural resources, water, and corporate law is helpful. The candidate should possess excellent academic credentials, a commitment to ethics, and the ability to work independently and communicate effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in various real estate transactions, including the acquisition, disposition, development, and leasing of residential, agricultural, commercial, and industrial properties.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, leases, and other real estate documents.
  • Provide legal counsel on land use planning and zoning issues.
  • Conduct due diligence and manage real estate transactions from start to finish.
  • Address and resolve issues related to environmental, natural resources, and water law as they pertain to real estate matters.
  • Collaborate with clients, other attorneys, and professionals such as surveyors and engineers.
  • Conduct legal research and provide strategic advice on real estate matters.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to real estate.
  • Represent clients in administrative proceedings and negotiations with governmental agencies.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of law firm experience in commercial real estate and land use planning.
  • Experience in the acquisition, disposition, development, management, and leasing of residential, agricultural, commercial, and industrial properties.
  • Experience with environmental, natural resources, water, and corporate law is helpful but not required.
  • Excellent academic credentials from an accredited law school.
  • Strong commitment to ethics and professionalism.
  • Highly motivated, hardworking, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with clients and colleagues.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Environmental Science, etc.).

Certifications:

  • Membership in the Utah Bar or willingness to become a member of the Utah Bar.
  • If not currently a member of the Utah Bar, must be a member of the bar in another U.S. state.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of commercial real estate and land use planning issues.
  • Proficiency in drafting and negotiating real estate documents.
  • Familiarity with environmental, natural resources, and water law.
