Job Overview:
A respected law firm is currently seeking a dynamic mid-level or senior associate to join its Employment Practice team in Washington, DC. This position is perfect for an attorney with a strong background in employment law and a desire to work on a broad range of employment-related matters. The role involves drafting key employment agreements, providing strategic counsel to clients, and supporting corporate transactions with employment-related insights. Experience in employment investigations or litigation is beneficial.

Duties:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, separation agreements, restrictive covenant agreements, and policies.
  • Advise clients on various employment law issues, including employee relations, compliance, and workplace practices.
  • Provide employment-related support in corporate transactions, including due diligence and contract review.
  • Assist with the preparation of position statements and other legal documents.
  • Offer strategic guidance to complex employment matters, ensuring risk mitigation and compliance.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience practicing employment law, ideally with a focus on transactional work.
  • Strong academic background and a track record of success in law firm environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Active membership in the Bar, or eligibility to promptly gain admission in Washington, DC.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Relevant Bar admission (or eligibility for admission in Washington, DC).

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of employment law and related regulations.
  • Proficiency in drafting complex legal agreements and policies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
