A law firm in San Diego is seeking an Employment Litigation Associate Attorney to defend and litigate lawsuits involving a broad spectrum of employment-related claims. The ideal candidate will also provide counsel to employers on various employment law matters and have a strong understanding of agency procedures.

Duties:

  • Defend and litigate lawsuits encompassing diverse employment-related claims and agency charges.
  • Advise, counsel, and train employers on employment and labor law issues.
  • Represent employers in court, arbitration, administrative agencies, and mediations in employment matters, including class/collective actions, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour disputes, contract disputes, employment torts, and non-compete cases.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA accredited law school, with excellent academic credentials.
  • Admission to the California State Bar and in good standing.
  • 1-3 years of experience in employment law; prior employment litigation experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with current agency procedures at both state and federal levels.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and dedication to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective organizational, time management, and project management abilities.
  • Commitment to professionalism, collegiality, and teamwork.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with class action and/or PAGA (Private Attorneys General Act) litigation is advantageous.
  • Background in advising employers on compliance with employment laws and regulations.
