Duties:

  • Provide clear explanations of immigration concepts and present strategic legal solutions.
  • Represent individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a caseload effectively while maintaining regular client communication.
  • Conduct intake interviews and consultations with detained individuals at detention facilities.
  • Prepare and review various immigration applications, including family-based petitions and removal defense.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations regarding immigration law updates.
  • Develop legal strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court appearances and USCIS interviews.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for a range of immigration cases.
  • Conduct consultations to determine case strategies and potential benefits.

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of experience in immigration law.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage caseloads and move cases forward efficiently.
  • Familiarity with family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, EOIR proceedings, detained cases, and citizenship applications.
  • Proficiency with case management software is preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the Texas Bar and in good standing.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.

Skills:

  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to strategize with team members.
  • Ability to provide thoughtful and compassionate legal advice.
