Job Overview

A well-regarded general practice law firm on the South Shore seeks a full-time Associate Attorney to join its probate and estate planning team. The ideal candidate will bring a high level of energy, judgment, and attention to detail, working primarily on estate and trust administration, probate litigation, and estate planning. Experience with guardianships and conservatorships is beneficial but not required. This role is primarily in-office and is suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

  • Manage estate and trust administration and probate litigation cases
  • Develop and execute estate planning strategies for clients
  • Handle legal proceedings related to probate and estate administration under the Massachusetts Uniform Probate Code (MUPC)
  • Work with clients compassionately to provide guidance on sensitive estate matters
  • Draft, review, and file legal documents related to trusts, wills, and guardianships

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in Estate and Trust Administration and Estate Planning
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong judgment and anticipatory skills for client needs
  • High energy level and ability to meet deadlines effectively

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active Massachusetts Bar License in good standing
