A law firm in Houston is seeking a Patent Litigation Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience. The ideal candidate should have a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school with an excellent academic record, admission to the D.C. Bar (or State Bar in which the attorney is practicing), and admission to the USPTO is strongly preferred. They should have experience assisting in all aspects of patent litigation matters, possess a technical background in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or Life Sciences, and demonstrate exceptional written and oral communication skills.

 

Duties:

  • Assist in all aspects of patent litigation matters, including legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Participate in trial preparation, pre-trial, and trial activities.
  • Utilize technical expertise to analyze patent claims and technical documents.
  • Interface directly with attorneys and clients, providing legal advice and guidance.
  • Maintain a demanding workload, demonstrating strong legal writing skills.
  • Take initiative and work independently on assigned tasks.
  • Contribute to decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational efforts within the team.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school with an excellent academic record.
  • Admission to the D.C. Bar (or State Bar in which the attorney is practicing).
  • Admission to the USPTO strongly preferred.
  • Technical background in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or Life Sciences.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to handle a demanding workload and work well under pressure.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and organization skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

  • Admission to the D.C. Bar (or State Bar in which the attorney is practicing).
  • Admission to the USPTO (strongly preferred).
