Job Overview:
A law firm located in Cincinnati, OH is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join its growing team. This position offers a unique opportunity to handle diverse residential and commercial foreclosure matters, title disputes, and other real estate and financial services issues. The role provides autonomy in case strategy development while offering ample support from a collaborative team. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of contested matters on behalf of residential and commercial mortgage lenders and investors.

  • Appear in court for routine and contested hearings, presenting motions necessary for the resolution of foreclosure, title disputes, HOA/COA disputes, and related matters.

  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing case updates and working toward timely resolutions.

  • Analyze loan files, title reports, and other relevant documents; draft motions, and prepare written discovery and responses.

  • Strategize case approaches, providing insight and recommendations for the most favorable outcomes.

Requirements:

  • J.D. degree, licensed in Ohio, and good standing with the Ohio Bar.

  • Minimum 1-3 years of relevant litigation experience, specifically in mortgage foreclosure, creditor rights, or civil litigation.

  • Familiarity with the Ohio mortgage foreclosure process is essential.

  • Knowledge of Ohio's Code of Civil Procedure and Supreme Court Rules.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Ohio.

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and efficiently.

  • Proven ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.

  • High level of professionalism in all interactions with clients, staff, and peers.

  • Solid understanding of real estate and foreclosure laws, as well as civil litigation processes.
