A law firm seeks a dedicated Junior Associate Attorney to join its Philadelphia, PA-based team. The successful candidate will work closely with senior attorneys to advocate on behalf of employee benefit plan participants and employees in ERISA and employment-related litigation. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in federal and state court cases while contributing to meaningful legal work.

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, briefs, and other filings for federal and state court cases.
  • Manage client intake, maintain communication, and oversee ongoing case management.
  • Collaborate on developing litigation strategies and assist with discovery processes.
  • Prepare for depositions, hearings, and mediations under the guidance of senior attorneys.
  • Draft and submit ERISA benefit claims and appeals on behalf of clients.
  • Represent clients at oral arguments, depositions, and other proceedings as experience grows.
  • Attend and speak at conferences focused on employment and employee benefits law.
  • Contribute to industry publications by writing on employee benefits law topics.

Requirements:

  • 0-3 years of experience in litigation, particularly plaintiff's ERISA and employment law.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to client advocacy and a collaborative, team-oriented approach to legal work.
  • Prior experience or knowledge of employee benefits law is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar is required.
  • Admission to the New Jersey Bar or eligibility for admission to the New Jersey Bar is preferred.
