A law firm seeks a dedicated Criminal Defense Associate Attorney to join its growing team in the Bakersfield area. Duties

• Provide legal counsel to clients regarding their rights and responsibilities in criminal matters.
• Draft legal documents relevant to clients’ cases, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws.
• Represent clients in pretrial hearings, offering strategic advice after each session.
• Manage court appearances, including trials, motion drafting, witness interviews, and legal research.
• Analyze case outcomes and legal precedents to develop effective defense strategies.
• Maintain an organized caseload and ensure timely follow-up on all matters.
• Offer legal analysis to clients, helping them understand possible benefits or risks in their cases.
• Collect and review evidence to strengthen client cases or counter prosecution arguments.
• Prepare clients for depositions and collaborate with witnesses and experts to gather supporting information.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in criminal defense law.
• Proven experience managing complex criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels.
• A collaborative team player with a willingness to engage with colleagues and strategize effectively.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred, but not required.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to providing exceptional client service.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the California State Bar (required).
