Job Overview: A law firm seeks a dedicated Associate Attorney to join their Trusts, Estates, and Elder Law practice group in Asheville, NC. Duties:

  • Advise fiduciaries, such as executors and trustees, on their legal duties and responsibilities.
  • Assist clients in managing the discovery and administration of assets in probate estates and trusts.
  • Prepare and file necessary probate documents, including inventories and annual accounts.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, offering empathetic and thoughtful guidance.
  • Communicate effectively with beneficiaries and other parties involved in the estate or trust administration process.
  • Collaborate with team members to provide sensitive and efficient administration of estates and trusts.
  • Manage multiple cases with attention to detail and strict adherence to probate deadlines.
  • Engage in creative problem-solving to navigate complex estate matters.
  • Meet a minimum billable hour requirement of 1,300 annually, with additional hours dedicated to professional development, community involvement, and business development.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina or eligible for admission via waiver into the North Carolina Bar.
  • Strong interest in the estate and trust administration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with clients.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently.
  • A proactive approach to handling legal matters and working within a collaborative team environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina (or eligible to waive into the North Carolina Bar).
