A law firm in Houston, TX is seeking a Financial Services Associate Attorney to join its Financial Services Litigation Team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Team Leader to provide legal services to financial institution clients and handle a range of commercial and consumer banking matters, as well as general commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will have strong academic credentials, polished interpersonal skills, and a genuine passion for the practice of law.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Financial Services Litigation Team Leader to manage and represent financial institution clients in various commercial and consumer banking matters.
  • Handle a broad spectrum of financial services litigation, including disputes involving commercial loans, consumer banking issues, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage cases from inception through resolution, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and representing clients in court proceedings and settlement negotiations.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on financial services matters, including risk management and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs and providing strategic legal solutions.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare written memoranda, legal briefs, and other documents.
  • Participate in client meetings, strategy sessions, and case management discussions.
  • Contribute to the firm's business development efforts by assisting in client presentations and marketing initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in Texas.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in financial services litigation or related fields.
  • Strong academic credentials with a demonstrated ability to manage complex legal issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Passion for the practice of law and a strong commitment to professional development.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) required.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.

Skills:

  • Proven experience in financial services litigation, including commercial and consumer banking matters.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
