Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:

A law firm in Ridgeland, MS, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Litigation Associate Attorney focusing on insurance defense. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of litigation experience and 2-4 years of insurance defense experience. This position requires a strong background in handling complex litigation matters and a commitment to providing exceptional legal representation. The successful candidate will be licensed to practice law in Mississippi and possess a Juris Doctorate or higher.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in various legal proceedings, including trials, arbitrations, and mediations.
• Handle a caseload of insurance defense matters from inception through resolution.
• Prepare and file legal documents, including complaints, motions, and briefs.
• Conduct thorough legal research and draft persuasive legal arguments.
• Negotiate settlements and manage client expectations throughout the litigation process.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff to develop case strategies and provide updates.
• Manage discovery processes, including gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings as required.
• Maintain accurate and detailed case records and documentation.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2+ years of litigation experience.
• 2-4 years of insurance defense experience.
• Must be licensed to practice law in Mississippi.
• Juris Doctorate or equivalent degree required.
• Proven track record of handling complex litigation cases.

Education:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Mississippi.
