A law firm in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Mid-level Financial Services and Securities Enforcement Associate Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing the firm’s financial services and securities enforcement practice. This role involves significant responsibilities in litigation and strategy development, including investigating cases, managing responses to complaints, handling discovery, drafting and arguing motions, taking depositions, and navigating cases through trial. Experience with sophisticated litigation and the financial services industry or financial fraud is highly valued.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and analyze financial services and securities enforcement cases, managing responses to complaints.
  • Oversee and execute discovery processes, including document review, production, and organization.
  • Draft and argue motions, and participate in hearings and court proceedings.
  • Take depositions and assist in developing strategies to navigate cases through trial.
  • Manage sophisticated litigation, including high-exposure financial fraud cases.
  • Collaborate with clients, business teams, and legal teams to develop and implement effective litigation strategies.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior attorneys and support staff.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in a first-tier law firm, focusing on financial services and securities enforcement.
  • Demonstrated experience in handling complex litigation and high-stakes financial fraud cases.
  • Strong academic record and excellent legal writing and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with clients and colleagues.
  • Licensed to practice law in Florida is preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Florida Bar is preferred.

Skills:

  • Expertise in managing sophisticated litigation, particularly in financial services and securities enforcement.
  • Strong investigative and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in drafting legal documents and presenting persuasive arguments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and work independently.
  • Judicial law clerk experience is highly valued.
