A law firm in Houston, TX is seeking a skilled Criminal Defense Attorney to join their team. Reporting to the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney, the candidate will manage a caseload, interact with clients, and provide expert legal representation in criminal cases. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is required, and candidates should possess exceptional interpersonal skills.

Duties:

Manage a caseload of criminal defense matters, providing legal representation to clients.
Advise clients on their legal rights and options, and draft legal documents related to their cases.
Attend pretrial hearings and provide strategic advice to clients following each hearing.
Conduct court appearances, trials, and other legal proceedings on behalf of clients.
Draft motions, interview witnesses, and conduct legal research to support clients' cases.
Analyze potential case outcomes based on legal precedents and evidence.
Provide legal analysis to clients, identifying potential case benefits and strategies.
Gather additional evidence to support clients' cases and challenge prosecution's charges.
Prepare clients for depositions and gather information from witnesses and experts.

Requirements:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the bar in Texas.
4-5 years of experience in criminal defense.
Experience handling complex criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
Exceptional interpersonal skills.

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar of Texas.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of criminal law and procedures.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to manage a high caseload and meet deadlines.
