Intellectual Property Patent Agent

Job Overview:
A law firm based in New York City, NY is seeking a detail-oriented Intellectual Property Patent Agent. The ideal candidate will be experienced in preparing and prosecuting patent applications, performing patent landscape and freedom-to-operate analysis, and conducting IP due diligence.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and prosecute patent applications in various technology fields.
• Conduct patent landscape and freedom-to-operate analysis.
• Perform IP due diligence for transactions and litigation.
• Collaborate with inventors and clients to draft and file patent applications.
• Review and analyze patent claims and prior art.
• Provide expert advice on patent strategies and IP portfolio management.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong background in Computer Science/Software.
• 2+ years of experience in a similar role is preferred.
• Strong academic credentials.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related technical field.

Certifications:

• Registered Patent Agent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is preferred.
