Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm in Sacramento, CA is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with 3+ years of experience in employment matters, focusing on wage and hour, PAGA, and FSLA litigation. The role involves extensive client interaction and managing all aspects of litigation, from discovery through trial or alternative dispute resolution.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct substantive witness interviews and client meetings.
• Manage discovery processes, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
• Take and defend depositions of witnesses and experts.
• Regularly appear in court to argue motions and attend hearings.
• Handle case management tasks, including calendaring and deadlines.
• Draft dispositive motions, such as demurrers, anti-SLAPP motions, motions for judgment, and motions for summary judgment.

Requirements:

• Must be licensed to practice law in California.
• Minimum of 3 years of prior experience in employment litigation, specifically wage and hour, PAGA, and FSLA cases.
• Experience in trial, mediation, or other dispute resolution processes preferred.
• Public sector litigation experience is a plus.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
