General Litigation Associate

A law firm seeks a General Litigation Associate to join its dynamic team in Syracuse, NY. This role presents an exciting opportunity for an attorney with 3 to 6 years of experience to work on a broad range of civil litigation cases. Duties:

• Handle a variety of civil litigation matters, including labor and employment disputes, business disputes, complex commercial litigation, construction law, and real estate disputes.
• Prepare pleadings, conduct discovery, and engage in motion practice.
• Analyze complex legal issues and develop effective strategies for case management.
• Communicate and collaborate with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders to drive case progress.
• Manage and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
• Offer practical solutions to complex problems with a focus on results.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
• Independently manage cases from inception through resolution, under the guidance of senior attorneys.

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of experience in civil litigation, particularly in labor and employment disputes, business disputes, and real estate or commercial litigation.
• Admission to the New York State Bar or eligibility to waive in.
• Proven experience in preparing legal documents, conducting discovery, and handling motion practice.
• Strong analytic, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage complex cases, and meet deadlines.
• Intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Prior law firm experience or federal/NY State clerkship is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in New York State or eligible to waive in.
